Danish design
A rare Danish mid-century pianette by Louis Zwicki. And one we’re pretty excited about. Just look at that rosewood! The striking grain has been beautifully mirrored, turning the entire front into a piece of art in itself. Nature did a pretty good job here ;-) The pianette has 82 keys instead of the standard 88 of a full-size piano. So, a little more compact. And that’s exactly what makes this Louis Zwicki such a great fit for a modern interior. Piano and vintage masterpiece in one.
Louis Zwicki
Every Louis Zwicki piano was individually numbered. This beauty carries No. 9579. See photo! Louis Zwicki is one of those Danish makers we love to tell you a little more about at Furnip. The company was founded in Copenhagen in 1899 and became a well-known name in Danish piano making. We’re especially fond of the mid-century pianettes. Not only for the music, but definitely for the design too.
Because just look at it as a piece of furniture.
Clean lines, beautiful proportions, craftsmanship and, of course, wood. True Danish design. And with this No. 9579, the wood was clearly allowed to steal the show.
The rosewood veneer on the front has been carefully bookmatched. Its dark lines and warm brown tones run almost perfectly symmetrically across the front. One of a kind, because a grain like this simply can’t be repeated. And that’s exactly why we love vintage. No two pieces are ever the same.
The pianette is in very good vintage condition. The rosewood has a beautiful rich colour and the overall condition is exceptionally good. Please note that the pianette was designed to be placed against a wall and is not suitable for freestanding placement.
And yes, it’s not just about the looks. The acoustics and tone are good. Please keep in mind that an acoustic piano will need to be tuned again after transport. We’ve also had the pianette inspected by a certified piano technician. The technical report is available upon request. Just drop us a note!
P.S. One little Louis Zwicki detail we’re secretly quite proud of: Charlie Puth recently bought a Louis Zwicki from Furnip too. Yep, that Charlie Puth. Singer-songwriter, producer and pianist. Apparently he’s mad for mid-century too ;-)
